Promising even more interaction on its legendary brand of basketball blended with entertainment, the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters are coming to TD Garden for their two-game Boston stop that’s part of a 150-city tour.
With the Globetrotters always comes trick shots, dazzling dribbling, lots of dunks, and plenty of hijinx packed into a family-friendly, laughter-filled exhibition. But organizers say with this year’s tour the world-famous team is taking the show one step further, dubbing their hardwood circus “The Spread Game Tour,” and promoting “new premium fan experiences with unprecedented access and interaction.” This includes meet and greets with players for some, as well as other features that are geared toward the mission of engaging with the communities they visit and initiating social change.
The team will do two shows at TD Garden on the same day, with a 2 p.m. matinee followed by a 7 p.m. nightcap. A week before Christmas, tickets were widely available for both shows at a variety of price points – and if the Dec. 28 stop in Boston doesn’t work for a would-be fan, the team will be in the area for the rest of the school vacation week. The Globetrotters go to Manchester, N.H., on Dec. 29, then to Providence on Dec. 30. After that, it’s back to Massachusetts, starting with a jaunt over to Amherst on New Year’s Eve, Worcester on New Year’s Day, and, finally, Lowell on Jan. 2. The cost for tickets at those shows outside of Boston are slightly less expensive, with the Globetrotters’ website also offering a promo code for a 25 percent discount on ducats for certain dates.
