Thousands of furries are converging in Boston’s Seaport this weekend for an annual convention with a wide range of event programming for its its two-legged animal conference-goers.

From Thursday through Sunday, furries will roam the Westin Boston Seaport halls taking part in a range of Anthro New England activities from Pokémon card trading to sewing a furry cat tail.

Packs of furries will also participate in a fursuit parade, dance competition, and animal music concert.

Those in attendance? People dressed as anthropomorphic creatures including wolves, foxes, dogs, and cats, who often express themselves through their own individual “fursona.”

Part of Anthro New England’s mission is to raise money for local charities. This year, the conference is supporting Wings of the Dawn, a wildlife rehabilitation center and bird sanctuary, and Queer Scouts, a nonprofit that organizes peer-led educational skillshares.
