St. Patrick’s Day is always a weekend full of festivities in Boston, and this year will be no different as the Dropkick Murphys announced they will be returning to MGM Music Hall and House of Blues Boston.

The dates will kick-off their “For The People … In The Pit” tour, with information for the rest of the tour to be released at a later date.

They will be playing at MGM Music Hall each night between Friday, March 13 and Sunday, March 15, as well as at House of Blues on Tuesday, March 17. Along with these, there will be a family-friendly Saturday mini-concert for charity at 2 p.m., with all proceeds going to the Dropkick Murphys-founded Claddagh Fund.

“We’ll turn down the volume and promise to wash out our mouth with soap and water if we swear … so you can bring the whole family,” the band stated in their announcement post about the Saturday charity show.

Dropkick Murphys:

For this show, each ticket buyer will be able to bring two children under 13 for free.

Presale for the concerts begins today, Wednesday, Oct. 8, by signing up on their website, with general sale going live on Friday, Oct. 10, at 10 a.m.

Originating in Quincy, the Irish punk band has a tradition of performing on St. Patrick’s Day to celebrate the holiday. With Boston having a large Irish-rooted population, these shows often sell out and are a lively tradition in the city.

This weekend of shows will be special for the band as well, as this year is the 30th anniversary of them forming.
