Cambridge’s Central Square Theater to debut play ‘Young Nerds of Color’

The play, written by Melinda Lopez, is made up of interviews with scientists from underrepresented backgrounds.

Playwright Melinda Lopez (“Becoming Cuba”, “Sonia Flew”) is back with another original theatrical work.

“Young Nerds of Color” is running at Central Square Theater in Cambridge from Feb. 17 to March 20. The play is the result of the synthesis of 60 interviews from scientists who don’t fit the stereotypical mold.

The play is a collaboration with Catalyst Collaborative@MIT and will be produced by Underground Railway at the Central Square Theater.
