Broadway In Boston returns for 2026-27 with major hits

The 2026-27 lineup brings 11 touring Broadway favorites to the Citizens Opera House and Emerson Colonial Theatre.

Get ready to fall in love with Broadway all over again.

The 2026-27 Lexus Broadway In Boston season is now official, bringing a slate of national touring productions to the Citizens Opera House and Emerson Colonial Theatre. 

Eight shows are included in the season subscription package; among them are “Death Becomes Her,” “Maybe Happy Ending,” “Hell’s Kitchen” and “The Phantom of the Opera.” Three additional fan favorites — “Wicked,” “Mamma Mia!” and “The Book of Mormon” — are available as optional add-ons, with subscribers receiving priority access before tickets go on sale to the general public.

Season subscription packages are now available through Broadway In Boston. Current 2025-26 season subscribers will be automatically renewed into an eight-show subscription for the upcoming season on Jan. 30. 

In total, the season spans 28 weeks of programming, with seven of the eight shows classified as direct Broadway hits, according to a statement shared by Vice President of Broadway in Boston Tivon Marcus. 

“We are so proud of the upcoming season and thankful to our subscribers, sponsors, and Broadway fans throughout New England for their longtime support, making each season better and better,” Marcus said.

11 total shows, endless curtain calls

Across two historic theaters, the 2026-27 season features eight touring Broadway productions, with three additional shows, running from fall through summer. The lineup mixes established blockbusters with newer hits for a wide range of shows to choose from.

Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical

Date: Oct. 13-25, 2026
Location: Emerson Colonial Theatre 

This fast-paced, Olivier Award-winning musical comedy tells the stranger-than-fiction WWII spy story that helped turn the tide of the war. Expect razor-sharp humor, quick costume changes and a score packed with wit. 

Wicked

Date: Sept. 23-Nov. 15, 2026
Location: Citizens Opera House 

The untold story of the witches of Oz returns, featuring soaring vocals, jaw-dropping spectacle and a fresh look at friendship, power and destiny before Dorothy ever arrived. 

Death Becomes Her

Date: Jan. 12-24, 2027
Location: Citizens Opera House 

Based on the cult-classic film, this darkly comic musical follows two rivals who discover a magical potion promising eternal youth — at a very twisted cost. 

Maybe Happy Ending

Date: Feb. 2-14, 2027

A tender, futuristic love story about two retired helper robots discovering connection, memory, and what it means to be alive. 

A Beautiful Noise 

Date: Mar. 23-Apr. 4, 2027
Location: Citizens Opera House 

The Neil Diamond musical charts the rise of the legendary singer-songwriter, featuring iconic hits like “Sweet Caroline” and “America” woven into his personal story. 

Mamma Mia! 

Date: Apr. 13-25, 2027

The Phantom of the Opera

Date: July 21-Aug. 8, 2027  
Location: Emerson Colonial Theatre 

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s timeless gothic romance takes the stage, with unforgettable music and one of theater’s most iconic love stories.

Season subscription 

Season subscriptions automatically renew each year, with current subscribers set to be renewed into the eight-show package on Jan. 30. Subscribers have 30 days from the season announcement to cancel without penalty, and renewal requires a valid credit card and email. If Broadway In Boston cannot renew a subscriber’s tickets automatically, the subscriber must pay the renewal invoice by Jan. 29 to keep their seats. 

Pricing includes ticket face value plus handling and facility fees, taxes and any premium seat fees. Premium subscribers receive priority access to the best seating locations and additional VIP benefits. Subscribers also have access to seat upgrades and exchanges, which are subject to availability, and can purchase additional tickets before the general public once upgrades are complete.
