Local peace groups in the Boston area are sponsoring an anti-war protest of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, joining many groups in other cities worldwide who have organized similar events. The March 6 protest will begin at 1 p.m. at Park Street station, speeches and a march will follow.
The list of organizations sponsoring the event includes Massachusetts Peace Action, Western MA CODEPINK, Veterans for Peace/ Smedley Butler Brigade, United Against War and Militarism, Boston May Day Coalition, ANSWER Coalition, Committee for Peace and Human Rights, Green-Rainbow Party, Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom, Campaign for Peace, Democracy and Common Security, Raytheon Anti-war Campaign, Boston Democratic Socialists of America/ Internationalism Working Group, according to the Massachusetts Peace Action website.
Massachusetts Peace Action said following other anti-war protests, what was needed now was a unified response by “peace-loving people” to say no to war in Ukraine.
