Fans of arena-sized rock and epic love stories are in for a treat as “Bat Out of Hell – The Musical” makes a three-city stop in Massachusetts this April, with one-night performances in Lynn, Worcester, and Boston.
The explosive production, written by Jim Steinman and inspired by Meat Loaf’s landmark “Bat Out of Hell” album, reimagines a rebellious love story in a dystopian, post-apocalyptic Manhattan. Loosely based on “Peter Pan,” the musical follows Strat, the fearless leader of “The Lost,” as he falls for Raven, the sheltered daughter of the city’s tyrannical ruler.
What unfolds is a tale of passion, defiance, and the power of youth set against a backdrop of electrifying rock music.
April 22: Lynn Auditorium, Lynn
April 23: The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts, Worcester
April 25: Boch Center Wang Theatre, Boston
Steinman’s score incorporates powerhouse songs from the original album and beyond, including “You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth,” “Bat Out of Hell,” “I Would Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That),” and “It’s All Coming Back to Me.”

Originally released in 1977, “Bat Out of Hell” became one of the best-selling albums in history, with more than 68 million copies sold worldwide.
The stage adaptation has earned major accolades, including the UK’s Radio 2 Audience Award for Best Musical at the Evening Standard Awards and eight nominations at the London WhatsOnStage Awards, including Best New Musical.
Tickets for the Lynn and Boston performances are currently on sale through the respective venues’ box offices and websites.
Tickets for the Worcester performance at The Hanover Theatre will be available Friday via Ticketmaster.
