Adam Sandler fans’ cups runneth over: Not only are they getting a “Happy Gilmore” sequel after 29 years — it’s on Netflix July 25 — but the man himself is hitting the road in person, bringing his comedy, silly songs, and, probably, yelling to arenas across the country.
No, there are no stops in his native New Hampshire — but New Englanders will get a chance to see the SNL alum and movie superstar at TD Garden in Boston when Sandler’s “You’re My Best Friend” tour rolls in Sept. 30.
Sandler made a return to standup last year with “Adam Sandler: Love You” on Netflix, his first comedy special since 2018 — and that one, “100% Fresh,” was his first in two decades. He’s also made dozens of movies (like two a year? three? it’s impossible to keep track) and turned up as a guest host on “Saturday Night Live” back in 2019, before returning for the show’s 50th anniversary special earlier this year. And for those of you who prefer a more sober Sandler, you’ll be able to catch him this fall in the Noah Baumbach film, “Jay Kelly,” a comedy-drama also featuring George Clooney and Laura Dern.
As for Sandler’s TD Garden stop, you better act fast: Pre-sales start Thursday, June 26, at noon, with the general on-sale starting Friday, June 27, also at noon, on Ticketmaster.
