The group brings its high energy folk-blues to Narrows Center on Nov. 11.

It may be a new era for Dustbowl Revival, but fans worried that the band is any less energetic than in the past need not be concerned. The energy is still there, but the band does take on some serious topics, like politics. Their latest album, “Is It You, Is It Me,” also gets personal, according to the band’s website.

While the band described their 2017 self-titled debut as a “roots dance party album,” the new record moves toward “more meaningful and emotionally charged territories, not only from a musical aspect but also from a lyrical one,” according to Bluebird Reviews.

The band is set to bring its unique sound to the Narrows Center on Nov. 11.

Along with the high energy music, the band encourages attendees to dance  – hopefully the COVID-19 era hasn’t discouraged that particular practice.

“The best of its songs had vocalist Taylor Dupuis’s high and sweet voice sounding like Alison Krauss,” according to a review by The Morning Call from when the band played the ArtsQuest Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in February 2019.

In a June 2018 show at The Soundry in Columbia, Maryland, the band wowed the crowd with a cover of a traditional gospel song, according to DC Music Review.

“The band’s version of ‘John the Revelator’ did a wonderful job of creating this nostalgic mood,” the website said. “Everyone in the audience was smiling and dancing. This was definitely a great way to enjoy a Friday evening!”
