Canadian indie rockers Tokyo Police Club are touring to celebrate the tenth anniversary of their second album “Champ,” released in June 2010. When I learned this, my first thought was: “Wow! I remember when that album came out. I loved that album. Didn’t I see them tour that album?” Turns out I did.

After a little digging around I found, sure enough, Tokyo Police Club played the House of Blues alongside Two Door Cinema Club back in February of 2011. It was a WFNX-sponsored show, and I was a DJ there at the time. So perhaps I’ll make a little date with my ten-years-ago self and see Tokyo Police Club play a bunch of the same songs I saw them play ten years ago in the same room I saw them play those songs in.
Bands touring on an album anniversary certainly isn’t a new concept, but the ten-years-later-and-in-the-same-room vibe here makes this one especially special. Now here’s the question: do I go digging around in my cellar for my CD copy of “Champ” from back in 2010? Or do I just cop a digital copy of the tenth-anniversary re-release from back in March? Decisions, decisions.
