Electro-pop duo Sylvan Esso come to the House of Blues

I had the pleasure of sitting down with Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn of electro-pop duo Sylvan Esso backstage at the Boston Calling Music Festival back in 2017. At the time, the pair were supporting their second album What Now, so I asked how the crowd was responding to the new songs. Amelia quipped: “People are starting to sing along, and that’s all I care about.” And that’s the thing about a Sylvan Esso show: you can’t help but sing and dance along, with Nick dropping the tracks and Amelia kick-jump-twisting around the stage like a human dynamo.

You’d be hard-pressed to find a live act that’s as much fun and has as much pure energy. And with a growing list of hook-laden singalongables like “Coffee,” “Radio,” “Die Young,” “PARAD(w/m)E,” “Ferris Wheel,” “Frequency,” and “Numb,” don’t be surprised when you find yourself singing along at the House of Blues. You might even dance along, too. And know that when you do, you’ll be putting a smile on Amelia’s face. She loves it when you do that.
