Jack White is shipping up to Boston from the music capital of Nashville on Sept. 11.

The former White Stripes frontman will bring his iconic garage rock music to Cambridge following the surprise release of a new album “No Name” last month.

The 12-time Grammy award-winning artist will perform at The Sinclair, the 525-capacity gastropub and live music venue in Harvard Square.

Tickets go on sale Friday, Sept. 6 at 1 p.m. and there is a two-ticket limit per customer. A limited number of student tickets for $25 will be available in person only at the box office on show night.

Twenty-five cents from each ticket purchased will go to The Shout Syndicate, a fundraising effort for youth arts projects in greater Boston spearheaded by a group of Boston-area music business veterans.
