Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit will be coming to Tanglewood in 2026

The six-time GRAMMY winner will perform on July 28, 2026, as a part of the Tanglewood Popular Artist Series.

The Popular Artist Series will be returning to Tanglewood in 2026, with the first band announcement being released on Tuesday.

Six-time GRAMMY award-winning singer-songwriter Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit will be performing on July 28, 2026, joined by folk singer Patty Griffin.

Isbell has been performing since 2001 when he was a member of the Drive-By Truckers, before breaking off and releasing his first album with the 400 Unit in 2009.

Since then he has featured on the Billboard 200, and had multiple songs of the year at the Americana Music Honors & Awards for “Cover Me Up,” “If We Were Vampires,” and “24 Frames.”

This show will be serve as one of the final shows of Isbell’s North American tour, as he will be traveling around the United States and Canada starting in January. That tour includes two dates at Boston’s Boch Center Wang Theatre on Feb. 27 and 28.

The Popular Artist Series brings musicians and performers across various genres together every year, to put on shows throughout the summer. Last year’s included bands such as John Legend, Jon Batiste, and many more.

The rest of the summer’s schedule will be announced in late January 2026, with tickets becoming available in March.

How to purchase tickets:

Tickets for this show will go live on October 31 at 10 a.m., and can be purchased through the Tanglewood website. There is a limit of four tickets per purchaser.

Tickets also may be purchased by calling 888-266-1200 on Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday 12:30-4:30 p.m, or by going to the Symphony Hall Box Office during regular Box Office hours.
