Jack Broadbent may have grown up in England, but you wouldn’t know it listening to his music.
With styles that include a mix of folk and rock, as well as blues, Broadbent has been called “the new master of slide guitar” by the Montreux Jazz Festival.
Broadbent is set to take Club Passim’s stage on Oct. 24.
Broadbent has performed with a variety of well-known artists, including Lynrd Skynrd, and Peter Frampton.
“I love old blues and folk,” Broadbent told Celeb Mix in 2019. “Touring with some of my heroes has been a real privilege for me. Ronnie Wood, in particular, has been very generous to me in giving me a platform and his support. I’m so grateful!”
Broadbent’s latest release, “Moonshine Blue” in 2019, received positive reviews. Broadbent has said he focuses on the songwriting first, and builds the rest of the song from there, according to Rock and Blues Muse.
“Jack Broadbent definitely has his own scene going on and that makes him a treasure in our current world of imitation,” the website said in a review of Broadbent’s latest release. “‘Moonshine Blue’ is soul candy from start to finish and will create its own spot in your record collection if given even half a chance. If you value headspace as much as hot guitar licks, it’s a must-hear.”
