Newton PorchFest returns to porches, yards, and driveways all over Newton this spring. On the afternoon of Saturday, June 4, over 100 musical acts will perform for free throughout the neighborhoods of Auburndale, Waban, and Newton Lower Falls.
Musical performances run the gamut of genres from jazz to barbershop, pop to classical, and R&B to rock. Folks can bring a blanket and picnic lunch to performances or listen to a range of music while taking a stroll or bike ride. The rain date is Sunday, June 5.
Somerville, Jamaica Plain, Arlington, and Fenway have also begun putting on yearly PorchFests. While some PorchFests returned last year as pandemic concerns subsided, 2022 marks Newton’s first PorchFest since 2019.
Volunteers are needed to help Newton PorchFest run smoothly and people can sign up on the event website. The festival’s schedule will be available on newton.porchfest.info by late April.
