Vibe to Bino Rideaux at Brighton Music Hall

In the legions of West Coast rappers that have dominated the airwaves over the last three decades, Bino Rideaux is joining those ranks — and deserves to, as a write-up last year in Kazi magazine suggests

“Bino lives up to the hype and his versatility sets him apart from many nonetheless,” a gushing-profile reads.

Bino puts it another way: “If you want to vibe, just slap my music. It’s all based on emotions.”

Bino made a splash in 2019 with “Sixtape,” his collaboration with fellow rising LA-rapper Blxst. In August, the dynamic duo released a long-awaited follow-up, “Sixtape 2,” with double the tracks.

“Sixtape” = a six song mixtape. “Sixtape 2” = a dozen tracks, they explained to REVOLT.tv.

“Since 2019, we were getting a taste of performing and getting a live reaction. It just started for us. Since then, it’s been so quiet. We’ve been so anxious to get back out here,” Bino told REVOLT.tv “ In the beginning, it was hard to even decide what moves to take. “Should I drop? Should I hold my music?” You can’t be outside, there’s a lot of restrictions. At the end of the day, it was a humbling experience. All this s**t can be fu**ed up in a blink of an eye, but at the same time, it gave us time to sit back and really figure out how to control our narrative. How we want to represent ourselves, get the music together, build our catalogues. Now, it’s time to shoot them shots.”

And Bino is itching to bring it all to the fans.

“Everybody knows this s**t and we up there,” he told the outlet. “It’s us doing what we’re doing back when they barely knew who we was. It’s going to be tight to see that shit grow now.

The “On My Soul” tour — and the vibe — comes to Boston this fall.
