Those seeking fresh air and nature in the new year can attend First Day Hikes Cape Cod.
The fourth annual event, taking place on Jan. 1, 2025, encourages people to get outdoors and join free guided walks and activities in Cape Cod’s parks, trails, and natural resources. The event will take place between 6:45 a.m. and 3 p.m.
First Day Hikes Cape Cod has previously attracted hundreds of people from across the Cape and beyond, according to organizers. This year’s celebration will include 18 events throughout the day, including sunrise hikes, nature walks, educational programs, bonfires, and more.
The event, spearheaded by Barnstable Land Trust, includes 16 organizations across Cape Cod. Offerings in 2025 include a hike through Punkhorn Parklands in Brewster, a walk-and-talk at the Margaret Wyman Turtle Garden Sanctuary in Barnstable, a Cold Brook restoration tour and photography stroll in Harwich, and more.
