Massachusetts is now home to more than 200 breweries, and that’s certainly something to celebrate. The Bay State trade association Mass. Brewers Guild is doing just that from March 5 to 12 during Mass Beer Week, an annual organized effort to #DrinkMassMadeBeer. We hardly need an excuse to drink local brews, but we’ll take one.

Dozens of breweries from Berkshire to Barnstable counties and everywhere in between are signed up as sites to purchase exclusive Mass Beer Week glassware. Throughout the week, fans can tag any Massachusetts craft beer-related photos on social media using the hashtag #massbeerweek2022 to be entered to win prizes like a $50 gift card to your brewery of choice, Tree House Distillers spirits, and a Cabot Cheese prize pack.

Breweries are planning various events and activities throughout the week as well, from special beer releases to trivia nights and pairing dinners. Highlights include a Saturday kick-off Polar Pool Plunge at Exhibit ‘A’ Brewing in Framingham in support of the Special Olympics Massachusetts; a flight of beers available all week from Bone Up Brewing in Everett featuring Massachusetts-grown ingredients; and a panel discussion about Women in Beer on International Women’s Day at Harpoon Brewery in the Seaport. There are beer trivia nights around Boston (March 7 and March 9), beer and cheese pairing events (March 5 and March 10), and even a five-course beer dinner happening Wednesday, March 9, at Oakholm Brewing Company in Brookfield.
