Jabari Asim to discuss new novel ‘Yonder’ with Harvard Book Store

Join the virtual author event on Tuesday, Jan. 25 at 6 p.m.

Looking to read more books in the new year? “Yonder” is Book Club’s January read and author Jabari Asim will be joining Boston.com for a virtual discussion with Harvard Book Store‘s Lily Rugo to discuss his latest work.

Asim, who is a professor and fellow at Emerson College, has had a prolific and wide-ranging literary career, authoring more than 20 books and writing for a variety of audiences across genres.

In Asim’s latest work, the author delves into historical fiction set in the mid-nineteenth century about an enslaved group who call themselves the “Stolen,” while the slave owners are known as the “Thieves.” The book’s tale examines the relationship between the two groups in a world where the Stolen’s lives and circumstances could change with one swift decision from the owners.
