Run to Trillium Garden on the Greenway during Boston Marathon weekend

Before regular-season hours begin on April 21, you can revisit the beloved beer garden.

We’re not sure beer is the complex carbohydrate sports nutritionists have in mind when they advise pre-marathon “carboloading,” but nevertheless many runners love to unwind with a pint. And that’s to say nothing of the party atmosphere which the Boston Marathon brings to town each year: With many folks off from work for Patriots Day, day-drinking and cheering on world-renowned athletes might just be Boston’s greatest pastime.

So it’s welcome news that Trillium Garden on the Greenway will be open throughout Boston Marathon Weekend this year, from Friday, April 15, through Monday, April 18, even though the regular season of the beloved beer garden officially begins on April 21.

Trillium Garden on the Greenway is in its fifth season of stringing twinkle lights across a scenic stretch of the public park. The family- and dog-friendly beer garden, situated amongst the trees across Atlantic Avenue from Rowes Wharf, will again bring a rotating lineup of food trucks along with Trillium beers (and hard seltzer) on draft.

Following the Marathon Weekend pop-up, Trillium Garden on the Greenway will be open Thursday through Sunday from noon until 7 p.m.
