Beat the Election Day blues

Whether you’re voting red or blue, there’s one cause we can all agree on: Free ping pong. And SPIN in the Seaport is leading the charge by offering a free hour of ping pong on Election Day (Nov. 5) to anyone who votes. Just flash your “I voted” sticker or any other confirmation you did the deed, and you’re in. Don’t want to watch the results roll in solo? Head to The Haven in JP for its election night watch party, where you can celebrate American democracy with Scottish fare. (Tuesday, Nov. 5 at various times and locations)

Grab a nightcap at City Hall

Remember this Wake Up The Night Program all about making Boston’s nightlife cooler? Next up on the calendar: Night Cap Cafe. This eight-night pop-up kicks off Wednesday Nov. 6 at Boston City Hall, where you’ll find speed-dating, comedy nights, a listening lounge, and even an IRL slumber party. Check out the full event line-up here. (Multiple dates from 6 to 11 p.m.; 1 City Hall Square, Boston; free)

Level up your dinner party-hosting skills

Spend your Thursday evening at Capo in Southie to refine your crust and noodle game with a pie- and pasta-making class. Capo’s pastry chef will give you all the pie-making tips and tricks, while the executive chef will handle the pasta how-tos. Your ticket includes an apple pie, a pasta demo, and a pasta dish to enjoy while your pie bakes.(Thursday, Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m.; 443 W Broadway, South Boston; $100)

See Boston’s hottest fashion hit the catwalk

And no, we’re not being snarky … We’re talking about Fashionably Late Thursdays at The Liberty Hotel. This jail-turned-hotel transforms into the coolest backdrop for local designers showcasing their work. Imagine: Models strutting through the catwalk and lobby, posing on tables, riding escalators, and weaving through the crowd. (Thursday, Nov. 7 from 8:30 to 11 p.m.; 215 Charles St Boston; free)

Taste the best of Boston restaurants

Visiting them all would take years. But you can knock a chunk of them out at Boston magazine’s Taste event on Thursday, featuring over two dozen local spots  serving up some of their best bites. Think: Bar Vlaha, Tonino, Mida, and more. (Thursday, Nov. 7 from 5:30 to 9 p.m.; 100 W 2nd St, Boston; Tickets start at $80)

Get a glimpse of the Larry O’Brien trophy IRL

The C’s may be gunning for Banner 19, but you can see their NBA championship trophy from last season in person at the Tip Tap Room on Beacon Hill this Friday. Wanna get even closer? Guests drinking a Jack’s Abby beer can snap a pic with the championship trophy. (Friday, Nov. 8 from 5 to 6:30 p.m.; 138 Cambridge St., Boston; free)

Take a stroll through Boston’s winter wonderland

It may feel too soon, but the Snowport opens this Friday. The Seaport’s annual winter wonderland returns Nov. 8 where you can find everything from iceless curling to a tree market. But the crown jewel is really the holiday market featuring over 120 small businesses. Although you can pay for timed-entry tickets this year, general admission is still free. Bonus: Constant Contact will be giving out free limited edition tote bags on opening day. (The Holiday Market is open Nov. 8 through Dec. 29 and hours vary; general admission: free; weekend timed-entry tickets: $12 for adults)

Craft the night away at Bow Market

Ever look at a cool graphic tee and think: I could make that? You can give it a whirl at DARK MODE’s weekly screen printing night on Friday, Nov. 8. Guests can screen print their own t-shirts or hoodies while sipping wine and jamming out to tunes. Note: You can bring your own garment or use the one provided. (Friday, Nov. 8 from 7 to 9 p.m.; 1 Bow Market Way, Somerville; $45)

Sip your Saturday away on local cider

Crisp ciders, sours, and local bites? We’re there. CiderFeast Boston returns for its third year in Southie on Nov. 9 at the Lithuanian Citizens’ Association. The line-up is loaded with ciders from around the region, including New England faves like Hilltop Orchards and Citizen Cider. (Saturday, Nov. 9 at 12 p.m.; 368 W Broadway, South Boston; $45 and up)

Honor the sacrifices of those who served
