Boston Legacy FC unveils inaugural home uniform, dubbed the ‘First Light’ kit

The Boston Legacy FC identity continues to take shape ahead of the club’s inaugural season.
The latest step in the buildup to the March 14 opener is the club’s release of its inaugural home uniform, dubbed the “First Light” kit in a nod to the team’s first NWSL season. The kit’s primary color is the club’s signature green (dubbed Legacy Green), with accents of “Fireberry” (pink), black, and white.
The hem tag on the bottom right of the jersey — two bears holding up a soccer ball — is a nod to the stone imagery on the historic former bear habitat at the Franklin Park Zoo.

The jersey features logos of three sponsors: Framingham-based retailer T.J. Maxx across the front, Hyundai Motor America on the sleeve, and Voya Financial on the lower back.
“This is the foundational kit upon which we will build our legacy,” Boston Legacy president Jennifer van Dijk said in a statement. “The green of our kit grounds us in the city we are so proud to represent, like the green of our parks — including Franklin Park, our future home. It stands out among a league of standout teams, and is part of our mission to create something lasting from day one.”
It’s the first of two kits the team will wear this season, with the release of the secondary kit set for Feb. 26.
“The responsibility we have towards our community and our supporters is enormous, and we are well aware of that,” Legacy head coach Filipa Patão said in a statement. “When we step foot on the field, we are here to play exciting football and when you look at our jersey, you’ll have that feeling of excitement at seeing the game.”

Jerseys are available for purchase at bostonlegacyfc.com, nwslshop.com, Amazon, and in stores at Dick’s Sporting Goods, Sports Endeavors, We Got Soccer, Fanatics, and Nike.
Boston Legacy FC is one of two NWSL expansion clubs joining the league this year (Denver is the other) and will split its home games this season between Gillette Stadium and Rhode Island’s Centreville Bank Stadium before moving to Franklin Park’s White Stadium when renovations are complete. The 2026 season kicks off March 14 in Foxborough against reigning NWSL champion Gotham FC.
The team is in the midst of training camp, which included three weeks at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. The Legacy played one scrimmage against the NWSL’s Washington Spirit in Florida on Feb. 7 before heading to Spain for the remainder of preseason, which will include four more scrimmages against NWSL and international clubs.
“There’s a real excitement in taking the field together for the first time and beginning to shape what Boston Legacy will look and feel like,” Legacy general manager Domè Guasch said in a release. “This preseason is our chance to build our game, but also the trust, habits, and connections that will define who we are.”
