As Jacoby Brissett settled into his spot at the podium for his press conference on Wednesday, Jerod Mayo walked up to the quarterback with an orange hooded sweatshirt stretched between both hands for all to see.

“What’s up bro?” Mayo said with a laugh. “I forgot something.”

Brissett stood up and put the sweatshirt on.

“This is terrible,” said the quarterback.

Brissett had to wear the orange Tennessee Volunteers sweatshirt because he had lost a bet with Mayo and rookie quarterback Joe Milton.

Mayo and Milton played college football at Tennessee. Brissett played college football at North Carolina State. The two teams met on Saturday, with the Volunteers trouncing the Wolfpack 51-10.

Offensive lineman David Andrews, a former Georgia Bulldog, felt sympathy for Brissett having to wear the Tennessee colors.

“That’s a tough orange, too. A little more vibrant than Auburn,” Andrews said. “Auburn is a little more subtle, but they’re just as bad too. He’ll be OK though.”
