After the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit denied his appeal, Tom Brady is in line to be suspended for the 2016 season’s first four games. But the NFL is taking more than playing time from the Patriots quarterback.

According to Ben Volin, Brady will not be paid for the four games the league is suspending him for. He will be docked a percentage of his $1 million base salary equivalent to the four games he is missing over the 17-game NFL season, about $235,294. Brady’s recently restructured deal saves him about $2 million during the suspension.

Brady can still petition the decision if the US Supreme Court will hear his case, but Volin describes the chances of that as being a “hail mary.”
