Twitter is relentlessly trolling Chuck Pagano for that awful fake punt play

“Would you consider that fake punt a bad football play or good performance art?’’

Colts head coach Chuck Pagano is getting a lot of tweets. AP

Indianapolis Colts coach Chuck Pagano already took full responsibility for the botched fake punt play late in the third quarter of last night’s Colts-Patriots game, a play some have compared to the butt fumble as one of the worst plays in recent memory.

“Alignment-wise, we weren’t lined up correctly and then a communication breakdown between the quarterback and snapper,’’ Pagano said in post-game remarks. “That’s all on me. I take full responsibility on that.’’

Despite that seemingly thorough explanation, when Pagano took to Twitter this morning to promote his radio show and ask fans to send in questions, Internet jokesters took the opportunity to relentlessly troll the coach who made the Buttfumble almost look competent.

Pagano’s already-tenuous hold on his job likely got a little looser last night.
