This photo of Jason Pierre-Paul’s mangled hand should keep you from playing with fireworks
The mangled right hand of Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul is the only reminder that anyone should need about the dangers of fireworks.
The New York Daily News published photographs showing Pierre-Paul’s hand without a bandage on Thursday that show the severity of the injuries suffered in an accident during July 4th weekend.

The two-time Pro Bowl selection appears to be missing significant portions of his thumb and index finger. His middle finger is also bandaged in the photos. After the accident, he underwent multiple hand procedures that included the amputation of his index finger, according to NFL.com.
While the timeline for his return to NFL action remains unclear, Pierre-Paul seems optimistic about his ability to continue performing at a high level.
