Ronda Rousey did it again, quickly. Again.

The undefeated UFC women’s bantamweight champion defeated challenger Bethe Correia by knockout just 34 seconds into the first round of a title fight at UFC 190 in Brazil on Saturday. Rather than coming by way of her signature armbar submission, Rousey’s win was secured with a flurry of punches.

The victory extended Rousey’s record to 12-0. It also continued her string of fights that didn’t last very long.

The trash talk leading up to the title bout in Brazil provided more drama than what took place inside the octagon. Leading up to the fight in her home country, Correia made a comment seemingly referencing Rousey’s father’s suicide. Correia would later apologize for the comment, claiming she did not know about the death of Rousey’s father.

‘‘I hope that nobody really brings up my family anymore when it comes to fights,’’ Rousey said after the win Saturday. ‘‘I hope this is the last time.’’

Rousey also mentioned the death of Hall of Fame wrestler Roddy Piper in her post-fight interview. Piper, who shared his nickname with Rousey, died Friday at age 61.
