Watch: Gilbert Arenas smashes Mercedes over lost Netflix password
At least it wasn’t over an ‘Orange is the New Black’ spoiler.
Gilbert Arenas has a history of outlandish spending sprees, and his $111 million contract from 2008 was such a disaster that even he admits it “could be’’ the worst deal of all time. But no matter how much money he’s made, the business decision to smash up a Mercedes over a Netflix account is an all-time bonehead move.

Arenas posted a video on his Instagram account (which has since been deleted) with a very explicit caption directed to TMZ and his ex-girlfriend Laura Govan. Govan is the mother of Arenas’ four children, and SB Nation points out the couple’s split in 2014 is going to get messy in court.
According to Arenas’ post, he smashed up the Mercedes, which was in his name but was driven by Govan, as retaliation for Govan changing the password to their Netflix account without telling him.
TMZ reports the Mercedes smashing incident occurred around the time the couple split. While watching Arenas absolutely lose his shit over a Netflix password is more entertaining than anything he did in the NBA after signing the $111 million deal, the details in the caption are downright disturbing.
It’s especially disturbing because Arenas’ first ugly and public breakup was with the Washington Wizards, the team responsible for that atrocious contract, in 2010. All Arenas did in that debacle was reportedly present four guns to a teammate with a note that said “pick one.’’
