Watch the inspirational trailer for ESPN’s Pete Frates Father’s Day special
The man who started the ‘Ice Bucket Challenge’ continues to raise awareness for ALS
Pete Frates continues to be a global inspiration in the fight against ALS; on Sunday, ESPN will give the world a new look at his fight and relationship with his family.
The 30-year-old former Boston College baseball captain became a father last summer, when he and his wife Julie welcomed baby Lucy into the world on August 31. The special will focus on Pete’s continued battle with ALS, how Lucy motivates him to keep fighting, and how Pete’s father John is helping spread Pete’s story.
“Becoming a father has been the greatest gift of all,’’ Pete says in the trailer. “When I am feeling down or sick, all I need to do is look at her little face.’’
Check out the trailer below for the segment set to air on SportsCenter at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
