BU Makes History with Two Goals in Four Seconds
One … two … three … four seconds was all it took for Boston University to turn a deficit into a lead and make some NCAA hockey history.
Providence’s Anthony Florentin netted the opening goal in the national championship game at TD Garden in Boston on Saturday night 9:25 into the first period. But the Terriers responded with the fastest consecutive goals in NCAA Tournament history. BU’s Ahti Oksanen scored the equalizer at 12:50 in the first period. Four seconds later, Danny O’Regan staked BU, the No. 3 overall seed in the tournament, to a 2-1 lead.
