Boston College to Honor Welles Crowther, the ‘Man in the Red Bandana’
Boston College will pay special tribute to Welles Crowther, a former BC lacrosse player credited with saving at least a dozen lives on 9/11, during a football game vs. USC Saturday night.
Crowther lost his life while saving others in the South Tower of the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. His heroic story was captured beautifully by an ESPN feature, “The Man In the Red Bandana,’’, produced by Boston College graduate Drew Gallagher.
