Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo got chummy with some New York Jets players Monday at the Jets practice facility in Florham Park, N.J. This past week, the Jets hosted the 4th-ranked team in FIFA’s rankings (behind Spain, Germany, and Brazil) as Portugal prepared for last Friday’s friendly in Foxborough and for the World Cup, which begins Thursday.

As if Americans weren’t confused enough as to what to call the sport he plays, Ronaldo threw a football (the oblong version) around while several Jets players, including kicker Nick Folk and linebacker Nick Bellore, kicked soccer balls. Ronaldo also impressed Bellore with his leaping ability.

Portugal has been assigned to World Cup Group G, along with Germany and the 13th-ranked US team.
