Admittedly, I’m not great at reading lips, but it’s clear that Anaheim Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau wasn’t saying anything G-rated last night after Matt Beleskey’s goal against the Bruins was called back for what many see as a phantom interference call.
“I didn’t really give him much of a chance to say too much. I was ready to hit him,” Boudreau said. “I give up trying to figure these guys out. What do you want me to say? It was a (bad) call. There was no explanation given to me. None. It cost us the game. Sure they got another goal – but, I mean, we would have played completely different if it was a 2-2 tie with 10 minutes to go.”
In the end, the Bruins won, 3-2, capping off back-to-back wins following Thursday’s stinker in San Jose. Boston now has 91 points on the season, and despite their recent struggles, that’s one point shy of the 92 they possessed exactly one year ago today. Go figure, right?
