Stage presence

Super Bowl champion (that’s weird) Peyton Manning is once again following in the footsteps of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, as he will host Saturday Night Live later this month.

The Indy Star’s Bob Kravitz poses some possible skits for the Colts quarterback and opines that Manning will shine in showing off his comedic side.

“On that score, I’m quite sure Manning will do great,” he writes. “When the media is around, he tries to control the message and present a carefully cultivated image, but privately, he is not afraid to laugh at himself. The laser rocket arm commercial is a perfect example.”

Brady received mostly glowing reviews for his 2005 appearance on the NBC staple, and from what we’ve seen from Manning’s admittedly humorous takes in the 6,000 ads he’s in, this could very well be the second time in the past three months that the Colts quarterback tops his on-field rival.

Manning will appear March 24, also his 31st birthday.
