Tom Brady signed a contract extension with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Friday that will reportedly tie him to the franchise through the 2022 season.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that it’s a four-year contract extension that voids to a one-year extension.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero noted that Brady’s new contract is another two-year, $50 million deal, but $41.075 million is due in 2021 and $8.925 million in 2022. Pelissero added that the deal once again includes postseason incentives, and there are three voidable years, which lowers his cap number in 2021 to $9.075 million.

Pelissero said the total cap savings in 2021 for Tampa Bay is $19.3 million, which pushes $32 million in dead money into future years.

“The cash flow sets the stage for another new deal in 2022,” Pelissero tweeted, “since there’s no indication Brady is going anywhere.”

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport quote-tweeted Pelissero’s tweet and pointed out that deal sets Brady up for “another redo” if he continues to play in 2022.

“Year after year, Tom proves that he remains one of the elite quarterbacks in this game and we couldn’t be happier to keep him in Tampa Bay as we continue to pursue our goals together,” Tampa Bay general manager Jason Licht said in a statement, according to ESPN.
