Tom Brady is staying in Tampa Bay for the foreseeable future.

Brady and the Buccaneers agreed to a contract extension that will keep him there through the 2022 season. The seven-time Super Bowl champion shared his excitement over his extension on his social media pages on Friday.

“In pursuit of 8…LFG @buccaneers we’re keeping the band together,” Brady wrote, adding an image of him signing the contract.

The extension comes a month after Brady won his seventh Super Bowl and just days before the start of free agency. More importantly for the Buccaneers, Brady’s extension will reportedly free up $19 million in cap space for the upcoming season.

With the new cap space, Tampa Bay can potentially re-sign key contributors such as Rob Gronkowski, Shaq Barrett, Ndamukong Suh, Antonio Brown, and Leonard Fournette. The Buccaneers have already reportedly come to a contract agreement with Lavonte David and placed the franchise tag on Chris Godwin earlier this week.
