Chase Young: ‘Tom Brady, I’m coming! I want Tom.’
Brady's Buccaneers face Young and the Washington Football Team in the first round of the playoffs.
Tom Brady’s first playoff matchup with the Buccaneers is set.
Following the Washington Football Team’s win over the Eagles on Sunday night, the Buccaneers will travel to the nation’s capital to take on the NFC East champions. And it looks like Washington is more than ready for the challenge that Brady presents.
Not long after their win over Philadelphia, Washington defensive end Chase Young expressed his desire to face Brady.
“Tom Brady. Tom Brady, I’m coming,” Young said as he was leaving the field Sunday night. “I want Tom. I want Tom.”

Some may see Young as too confident in facing the six-time Super Bowl champ. However, Young has put up a strong rookie campaign. The No. 2 overall pick has recorded 7.5 sacks, 44 tackles, and four forced fumbles, making him the favorite to win the Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Young headlines a Washington defense that’s among the league’s best. Washington is second in yards allowed and fourth in points allowed. Of course, Brady has his crew rolling as of late. The Buccaneers have won their lost four games, scoring 40-plus points in their last two games, with Brady finishing the season third in passing (4,633 yards) and second in passing touchdowns (40).
Asked about Young’s comments Monday, Bucs coach Bruce Arians told reporters, “It’s one of those games that careful what you wish for.”
No matter the confidence on either side, Saturday night’s matchup looks to be a good one between Tampa Bay’s offense and Washington’s defense.
