Super Bowl

The Patriots used Tom Brady as a receiver in Super Bowl LII. It didn’t work out.

Looks like Gisele Bündchen was right about her husband’s ability to catch the ball.

Tom Brady had an opportunity to convert a Patriots’ third down midway through the second quarter, but the short pass from Danny Amendola bounced off the quarterback’s fingers.

Following New England’s loss to the Giants in Super Bowl XLVI, Bündchen infamously told reporters, “My husband cannot f***ing throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time.”

While Brady may have bungled his lone receiving attempt in Super Bowl LII, the 40-year-old has previously caught passes from his receivers — against the Eagles, in fact. Amendola and Brady connected for a first down using a nearly identical play during a regular-season game in 2015.
