Boston Legacy Football Club revealed that discount department store TJ Maxx will be the club’s first front-of-kit sponsor.
The Mass. based chain, which has over 1,000 stores nationwide, is also the first major sponsor announced by the Legacy (which will make its NWSL debut in the 2026 season). It’s reportedly part of a multiyear agreement with TJ Maxx.
The “front-of-kit” sponsor is generally the most prominent, as it will be the most visible advertisement associated with the club’s jersey. Additional sponsors will likely be announced by the club in the coming months.
“TJ Maxx is proud to take our commitment to women’s sports to the next level as the front-of-kit sponsor for Boston Legacy Football Club, a team with whom we share values and a hometown,” said Emily Trent, Senior Vice President of Marketing for TJ Maxx, said per a team announcement.
“This organization reflects our ambition to celebrate women’s individuality, uplift players’ unique stories on and off the field and inspire more fans to tune into the exciting world of women’s sports,” Trent added. “From championing their personal stories to their personal style, TJ Maxx cannot wait to show up for the players, coaches and fans on game-day and beyond all season long.”
The Legacy are currently in the stage of building the club from scratch. Along with securing sponsorships, and clarifying where home games will be played in the club’s inaugural season (which appears to be set for Gillette Stadium), Boston continues to build its roster. The Legacy have already announced several signings, with a few more likely on the way.
The 2026 NWSL season will begin on Friday, March 13.
