Boston will host seven FIFA World Cup 2026 games and ticket sales are expected to be extremely competitive—and expensive. Games will be played at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough from June 13 to July 9, 2026, and the first phase of ticket sales has already begun.

Boston will host five group stage matches on June 13, 16, 19, 23, and 26. Boston’s Round of 32 match will be held on June 29, and the quarterfinal match on July 9. All seven games will be played at Gillette Stadium–which will be renamed Boston Stadium for the duration of the tournament. Gillette Stadium capacity is 64,628, according to the website.

Fans can purchase tickets for any of the tournament’s 104 games across the U.S., Mexico, and Canada—including seven games at Gillette Stadium and the final match in New Jersey. Single-game tickets are expected to start at $60, with the most premium seats priced as high as $6,730.

FIFA World Cup 26 Chief Operating Officer Heimo Schirgi told NPR that a dedicated team will be regularly “monitoring and making adjustments in real time” to ticket prices, a strategy FIFA calls “variable pricing.” When sales officially begin in October, those $60 ticket prices could very quickly rise. How this will affect the resale platform remains unclear.

Team matchups won’t be revealed until Dec. 5. For ticket holders who change their plans, FIFA will offer an official resale platform.

FIFA is expecting five million fans to show across 16 host cities. It is estimated the tournament will bring in more than two million visitors to New England. According to NPR, demand for tickets in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar had only a 15% success rate

Ahead, we breakdown what you need to know to secure tickets.

How to register to purchase tickets

Fans can purchase tickets by first registering and creating a FIFA ID at FIFA.com/tickets.

Phase 1: Visa Presale Draw

The first phase of ticket sales kicked off Wednesday with the Visa Presale Draw, which runs from Sept. 10 at 11 a.m. through Sept. 19 at 11 a.m. It’s open to eligible Visa cardholders who have registered with FIFA. Anyone who applies during this window will be entered into a lottery. If selected, fans will receive a specific date and time slot to buy tickets starting Oct. 1, subject to availability.

Phase 2: Early Ticket Draw

For those ineligible or were not selected in Phase 1, fans can register for the Early Ticket Draw, expected to run from Oct. 27 to 31. If selected, fans will be able to purchase tickets from mid-November to early December, subject to availability.

Phase 3: Random Selection Draw

After group-stage matches are set Dec. 5, fans can submit applications for specific matches. Exact registration dates for this phase are not yet set.

Any remaining tickets will be available for general sale on a first-come, first-serve basis.

What to know about hospitality packages

There are other options, although potentially far pricier. Luxury hospitality packages for the 2026 FIFA World Cup have been available since May, with prices for games in Massachusetts ranging from $5,300 to $26,700. Venue-specific packages that get access to all seven games in Boston start at $11,150. The U.S. team-specific tickets have not yet been released but are currently starting at $6,750 for other countries.
