‘Holy Grail’ of Tom Brady rookie cards sells for all-time football record $2.25 million

A Tom Brady rookie card sold for a world record $2.25 million Friday night as part of the Lelands Spring Classic Auction.
Dubbed the “Holy Grail” of Brady rookie cards, it officially went for more than any other football card in history. The 2000 Playoff Contenders Championship Rookie Ticket #144 Tom Brady Rookie Autograph card was graded 8.5 with an autograph grade of nine.
The card was purchased on eBay over a month ago and was tucked away in a private collection since then.
Before this transaction, the previous record was another Brady rookie card, which sold for $1.32 million last month.
