Morning sports update: Alex Cora promises to catch beer at parade ‘next year’

Alex Cora had a ready response to question about beer: At the premiere of the Red Sox World Series documentary on Monday, manager Alex Cora downplayed an incident in which an open beer was thrown at him.
“If someone throws a beer near me next year, I’ll catch it,” said Cora. His reference to “next year” was, as he explained, an early forecast of how he thinks the Red Sox will do in 2019.
