Morning sports update: Mookie Betts delivered food to homeless people in Boston after Game 2
"He was incognito just trying to do good."
The Red Sox are in Los Angeles to face the Dodgers in Game 3 of the World Series on Friday night (first pitch is at 8:09 p.m. EST). Rick Porcello takes the hill for the Red Sox, while Walker Buehler pitches for the Dodgers.
Elsewhere, the Bruins defeated the Flyers at TD Garden, 3-0. And the Celtics rallied to defeat the Thunder, 101-95.

Mookie Betts delivered food to Boston’s homeless after Game 2 of the World Series: Hours after helping the Red Sox gain a 2-0 series lead over the Dodgers, Mookie Betts was delivering food to the homeless near the Boston Public Library.
WEEI’s Rob Bradford spoke to Mike Winter, a Bostonian who was exiting Storyville, a nearby club, when Betts was delivering food at approximately 1:45 a.m.
“No pictures. No nothing,” said Winter. “None of the homeless even knew who he was but they were just grateful for what he was doing.”

Betts and his cousin delivered 10 trays of food. It’s not the first time the Red Sox superstar has done something like this. What stuck out in Winter’s mind was that Betts, who was wearing a hoodie, avoided the spotlight.
“He wasn’t out looking for any recognition all,” Winter told Bradford. “A lot of people are looking for a pat on the back and he wasn’t looking for that whatsoever. He was incognito just trying to do good.”
