Rajon Rondo announces his intentions with the Lakers: Former Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo is now in Los Angeles, having signed a one-year deal with the Lakers in July. Along with fellow newcomer LeBron James, Rondo is setting his sights high.
“I need another ring,” Rondo told ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk on Monday. “It’s simple. I want to be the first to win for the two most historic franchises that’s ever put a basketball to use. So, I got one in Boston and I’d love to get one with this organization.”
“Obviously, playing for Boston that was probably the best experience I’ve had since I’ve [been in the league]. And now here. Obviously, all the teams I’ve played for, they do have great organizations, but none touch this.”

Astros’ Alex Bregman has a connection to Ted Williams: While the former Red Sox draft pick might not be beloved in Boston any time soon, he grew up idolizing one of its legends.

Tom Brady closes on 1,000 career rushing yards: The Patriots’ quarterback ran for a four-yard touchdown on Sunday night against the Chiefs, brining his career rushing total to 983 yards.
“When (opportunities to run) come up in certain moments, you’ve got to take advantage,” Brady said in an interview on Westwood One. “They don’t really come up for me that often, and unfortunately, instinctually, I don’t have those instincts to just take off and go.
