How much do Thanksgiving high school football games matter now?

Bobby Leonhardt will pull on his No. 52 Wellesley High football jersey for the final time on Thursday morning. The senior captain and his Raider teammates are gearing up for the program’s 129th Thanksgiving meeting against archrival Needham High.

And as he learned, very passionately, in an impromptu encounter at a Roche Bros. in town a couple of years ago, the rivalry very much resonates.
