Jeremy Lin is giving back to his alma mater after signing a contract with the Brooklyn Nets in the offseason reportedly worth $36 million over three years.

Announced on Wednesday, Lin is gifting Harvard $1 million, according to the Harvard Gazette. His gift will help fund the Harvard Financial Aid Initiative and renovation of the Lavietes Pavilion.

“I’m honored to put that same world-class education in reach for deserving students and to support improvements to the facilities where I spent countless hours practicing and competing,” Lin told the Gazette.

Lin graduated from Harvard in 2010 with a 3.1 GPA and a degree in economics. On the court, the three-time All-Ivy selection sits sixth on the men’s basketball team’s all-time scoring list with 1,483 points.
