UMass Lowell’s ‘Harambe Night’ will feature fans in gorilla suits

Harambe the gorilla has become a mock-revered internet figure since his death in May. AP

Since Harambe the gorilla was shot at the Cincinnati Zoo in May, he’s become a mythical figure on the internet for reasons that aren’t completely clear.

UMass-Lowell took the Harambe worship to a new level with the announcement of Harambe Night, which will take place during the men’s soccer game against Brown Wednesday.

Harambe’s ever-growing legend is showing no signs of slowing down, and UMass-Lowell is capitalizing on the craze.
