In perfect Boston day, Aly Raisman visits local gyms and lets David Ortiz wear her medals

Aly Raisman’s hometown victory tour got into full swing on Friday when the Needham-native made stops at two local gyms and — of course —  Fenway Park. With her medals in tow, the two-time Olympian surprised her fellow gymnasts at Brestyan’s Gymnastics, where she trains in Burlington. Last week, her Brestyan teammates held a viewing party to cheer for Raisman during her final Olympic event in Rio.

Raisman also made time Friday to stop in for some early morning boxing at FitBOX gym in Dedham with gymnast Nastia Liukin, who won gold in the women’s individual all-around at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

But the day was not complete until she dropped by for a visit at 4 Yawkey Way. There, sporting her three Rio medals and a Red Sox jersey, Raisman finished her perfect day at Fenway Park, where she hung out with Red Sox slugger David Ortiz.

She even let Ortiz, who cheered her on from Boston during the Olympics, try her medals on for size.

The gold medalist’s homecoming party continued Saturday with a rally in Needham.
