The nominations were unveiled Monday for the second-annual Globies, taking place at the House of Blues on November 14th.

The Boston Globe’s sports award ceremony seeks to honor the greatest names and accomplishments of the last year in New England athletics.

The categories include everything from the MVP’s on the five major sports franchises, the all-around best New England athlete, and “Most Stylish” and “Social Media Star.” The latter two categories, in addition to the “Voice of Boston,” will feature fan-voting exclusively.

Among the athletes nominated are, of course, those whom you would expect: David Ortiz, Isaiah Thomas, Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, and Patrice Bergeron, to name a few. But the Globies will also give fans a chance to honor some less-heralded names such as Terrance Knighton, Frank Vatrano, and Steven Wright.
