Face wash? No, Phil, mouthwash.

Phil Kessel and linemate Carl Hagelin are two of the fastest skaters in hockey. Their line (including center Nick Bonino) has been responsible for 14 goals in as many games for the Pittsburgh Penguins in the postseason, and in order to keep that pace up, one would imagine that conditioning would play a key role in sustained success.

NBC’s Pierre McGuire asked Kessel about his ‘breath’ during the postseason, and the former Bruin seemed to misunderstand the question slightly.

Oral hygiene aside, Kessel has been performing incredibly well in the postseason, leading all skaters in the Eastern Conference with sixteen points on seven goals and nine assists.

With the win Wednesday night, the Penguins currently lead the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-1 in the Eastern Conference Finals, thanks in large part to Bonino, Hagelin, Kessel, and his hot dog breath.
